Overview - Public Art in the Gateway
The Gateway Business Improvement Area (BIA) public art project is a beautification initiative launched in 2006 to transform a previously uninviting neighbourhood in the heart of Prince George into a cheerful and attractive area.
The art on display is freely accessible to the public at no cost and funded entirely by the Gateway Business Improvement Society, which consists of business owners operating within the Gateway BIA. The Society has worked closely with Prince George artists, blacksmiths and local agency Concept Design over the past sixteen years to create the many art works that now brighten this zone, including a mural, signage, street banners and sculptures. We are proud of the many creative contributions made by PG’s own local talent to revolutionize the Gateway into a welcoming northern neighbourhood.
